At the 2018 Garden Club of Jackson Garden Tour, lunch was served in compostable bowls, lids, and cups. GCJ Conservation Chair Cheryl Welch says, "They were finally incorporated into my compost pile on July 1. Some were put in the regular compost pile which gets food scraps, pulled up flowers, etc. A few were put in the leaf mould pile. The leaf mould pile is strictly leaves that are piled up in the winter. Upon checking both piles on August 18, all the bowls were totally gone – composted! There is a rich compost ready to be used. Only a few of the lids have not fully composted. Amazing that ir works so fast – and a great way to reduce our garbage." Thank you Cheryl!
